The face of Dulux paint brand, Olivia, is an adorable Old English Sheepdog residing in Lincolnshire. It’s fantastic news that she recently gave birth to seven little puppies, comprising two boys and five girls, marking the latest addition to this famous dog lineage. The newest members of the family are now six weeks old and have been seen frolicking together, making the most of the remaining sunshine of the summer.
As the young dogs grow up, they have the potential to become the latest stars of Dulux’s advertising campaigns. The team at the company has dubbed them as “adorable bundles of cuteness that possess an undeniable charm.” I couldn’t agree more with their assessment.
According to Marianne Shillingford, the Creative Director and Colour Expert at Dulux, the Old English Sheepdog has been the iconic mascot of the brand for more than six decades. Dulux is thrilled to announce that they have added adorable puppies to their family, in association with the Old English Sheepdog Rescue & Welfare Fund. Shillingford believes that these charming pups are destined to become famous and we will be seeing more of them in the future. This news comes as the Kennel Club lists the Old English Sheepdog as ‘at watch’ due to a decline in puppy registrations.
The number of registrations for furry canines witnessed a decline of 12% from 377 in 2021 to 333 in the recent year. Unfortunately, experts predict that the statistics will continue to plummet in 2023. However, there is some optimism for the breed’s future with the arrival of Olivia’s litter.
Dulux made its debut of featuring the Old English Sheepdog in its advertisements in 1961. Since then, several adorable pups have become the brand’s ambassadors.
